Head back to the Ghostwriter website each week for more fantasy football tips for the rest of the season! Also, the players are in no particular order.

RUNNING BACKS

DeAngelo Williams PIT

Week 8 was certainly a rough week for fantasy owners in terms of the amount of injuries that occurred. With Le’Veon Bell going down, DeAngelo Williams will be thrust into the spotlight in Pittsburgh. He already proved that he can produce early in the season when Bell was suspended. Williams will also be a more relevant fantasy threat now that Big Ben (Ben Rothlisberger) is back. He is a must-add for Bell owners and worth a look as a middle waiver order snag. (about 25% owned)

Alfred Blue HOU

Arian Foster is injured and Blue is still available in a lot of leagues. He isn’t the most exciting player but can play decently for multiple weeks. Blue is worth a look as he will be the guy in Houston from here on out. (about 60% owned)

Jeremy Langford CHI

Like with the Le’Veon Bell injury, Langford will be thrust into the starting role in Chicago due to the Matt Forte injury that should set him back about 2-3 weeks. Langford is a decent short term option for fantasy owners as the Bears offense is slowly improving. (about 10% owned)

CJ Anderson DEN

Anderson stunk thus far this season. Despite going in the first round in many leagues, owners have dropped him in many leagues as well. However, Anderson played well on Monday night. Could this be the turnaround we’ve been looking for from Anderson? Maybe, maybe not. He is worth a stash on an open bench if you can afford it. He definitely has great upside. (about 80% owned)

Christine Michael DAL

Joseph Randle was dropped by Dallas today. We already knew McFadden was the guy going forward and he has been playing well. However, McFadden is old in football terms and is also notoriously injury-prone. Christine Michael is fresh talent and has insane athleticism. My recommendation is to snag Michael if you have an open spot or if you are planning on using McFadden as a primary RB. However, do not waste a high waiver order pick on Michael. (about 30% owned)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Willie Snead NO

The Saints offense put on a show in week 8 and it looks like they’ve overcome their early season struggles. Snead and Brandin Cooks will still both have fantasy value going forward in New Orleans but their is a good chance Snead could start to steadily surpass Cooks’ role and become the favorite. (about 65% owned)

Kamar Aiken BAL

The Steve Smith injury will do what the others starters’ injuries have done this week and that is put Kamar Aiken in the spotlight. If you need a WR, go at Aiken heavily this week on the waiver wire. He could become a decent WR2 in the second half of the season. (about 20% owned)

Malcom Floyd/Stevie Johnson SD

Keenan Allen is out for the remainder of the year with a lacerated kidney. This increases Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson’s fantasy value tremendously because Phillip Rivers is having another great year and now that the reception monster in Allen is absent, these two will be able to soak up these new targets. (Floyd: about 30% owned; Johnson: about 30% owned)

QUARTERBACKS

Derek Carr OAK

I put Carr on the list last week and I’m placing him here again. The Oakland Raiders’ offense is good and so is Carr. The fantasy world needs to note this. He is a good guy to pick up and play this week if your QB is on a bye. He could be a good backup as well in case something happens to your current QB. (about 40% owned)

TIGHT ENDS

Benjamin Watson NO
Watson had big shoes to fill when Jimmy Graham left for Seattle. He has finally started to play well and should be the top targeted tight end this week on the waiver wire. He should be a solid pick up and play if your TE is on a bye. He’s also a good snag if you’ve got someone like Jordan Cameron who hasn’t been playing up to his potential. (about 55% owned)

Vernon Davis DEN

Davis was traded to the Broncos and I think he will have value there but people are making a much bigger deal of the situation than they should. The Broncos passing game and offense in general has struggled to move the ball this year with two of the top wideouts in the game and one of the best QBs ever. With Sanders and Thomas hogging much of Manning’s targets, Davis won’t have insane value like a lot of people are hyping him up to be. That being said, if you need a TE and have a lower waiver order and Watson is gone Davis won’t be a bad pick up for you. (about 30% owned)

DEFENSES

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are at home and playing a Browns team on a short week where Josh McCown is banged up. The Browns shouldn’t be scoring too much against a potent Bengals offense that will keep their defense off the field the majority of the game. The Bengals are a good pick up and play if you have a defense on a bye like Seattle. (about 10% owned)
