Jaclyn Moran is a new special ed teacher at WA this year and recently the Ghostwriter had a chance to learn about how her time at WA has been so far. 

Q: Were you always a special ed teacher?

 A: No, I taught at Wilmington middle school teaching sixth grade reading.

Q: What made you want to be a special ed teacher?

 A: I like helping kids, achieve their potential.

Q: How long have you been a special ed teacher?

A: I had a special aid license since 2012-2013, but [my] first year [was] as [an] acting special needs teacher, so two weeks.

Q: What is the best part of your job?

A: My students. Getting to know them, [and] interacting with them.

Q: What is the worst part of your job?

A: Not getting to meet more students, because I have less students now and not getting to interact as much.

Q: Did you always want to be a teacher?

A: No, I went to college for business and did that for a couple of months, and hated it. So I switched, but in high school I wanted to be an English teacher.

Q: What do you like about Westford Academy so far?

A: The students, [they] all are mature, respectful, and helpful.

Q: What college and high school did you go to?

A: I went to Wilmington High School. I went to three colleges, I went to Quinnipiac University for a year, and transferred to University of New Hampshire, and then went to Gordon College.

Q: What was the best part of college?

 A: Meeting new people and freedom [and] Having a lot of freedom and time.

Q: What is something interesting about yourself?

A: My favorite thing in my life is my dog, and he is five years old, named Prince Charming. He is a golden doodle.
