Season 41 of “Survivor” has been one like no other. Shocking, never-before-seen twists have left viewers on the edge of their seat, but that is not the only thing that has made Season 41 special.

“Survivor” is a reality television series where eighteen castaways all compete for a one million dollar prize on a deserted island in Fiji. The castaways compete in challenges (races, puzzles, etc.) in an attempt to win immunity, because after every challenge, everyone except for whoever is in possession of the immunity necklace, is at risk of being voted off the island. Season 41 has brought many unexpected twists and turns such as less food, no flint, and the castaways’ spot on the island is always in jeopardy.

One of the main strengths of the show is the constant action and suspense. Every week, the newest episode keeps me engaged and wanting more, as new twists are added left and right. As a viewer, you also develop favorite contestants throughout the season, so it also becomes very nerve-racking when your favorite contestants are at risk of getting voted off. Also, although it is Season 41, you can begin watching any season you want and won’t miss a beat, because there are new contestants every season.

Jeff Probst is also a phenomenal host and proves year after year why he is one of the best hosts of all time. The way he connects with the players and keeps viewers on the edge of their seat during immunity challenges is exceptional. Probst has been the host since Season 1, and he has solidified himself in “Survivor” history, becoming such a huge part of what the show is all about.

I would recommend “Survivor” to anyone who would enjoy an enticing, unique, action-filled reality television series. The real emotions of the castaways combined with the incredible hosting of Jeff Probst will leave you speechless. It is also appropriate for all ages so it is a great option to watch as an entire family every Wednesday night at 8 o’clock on CBS.
