With the junior cotillion, prom and graduation on the horizon, many young couples are preparing for the pinnacle of high school. But in times of celebration, the temptations of alcohol and narcotics manage to find their way into the school. Some manage to avoid these temptations with their own freewill, but others succumb to them. Some have said that many students have arrived at a dance possibly under the influence. But some believe it to a rumor that none of this has occurred.
“Kids sometimes don’t make good choices” says dean Mr. Parent. “Students can occasionally make a negative choice, but I hope to see that this would change.” In case of these teens, a well trained staff and a breathalyzer test are on stand by. And if a student is caught, he or she is eligible for a thirty day suspension from the Academy.
For the most part, kids choose the appropriate, school encouraged path; stay away from these addictive pleasures. “For the most part, kids choose the right choices. The students are very honest and have proven that you don’t need to inject, smoke or drink” says Mr. Parent.
