As COVID-19 continues to affect the world, it also has immensely impacted small business in Westford by enforcing new health and safety protocol. Westford is filled with small businesses from jewelry and fashion Instagram accounts to diners and bakeries. The Ghostwriter had an opportunity to interview local small business throughout Westford and ask how the pandemic has affected their business, and how it may have brought people together in these uncertain times.
Senior Prisha Mark (Owner of @sunsalutationss on Instagram): " Well, I started my business during quarantine so I had to start online/on Instagram. It's harder to ship out packages on a timely basis, not only with the effects of the USPS, but also due to personal reasons. I'm balancing school and extracurriculars, it's sometimes difficult to keep up with orders and trying to find a time to ship it out. It also has taken longer to get materials due to the pandemic. I think that community has an understanding that during this time, it's very beneficial to support small businesses, if possible of course. Also the small business community in general is just really supportive as well and I've also met other local small businesses through my account as well."
