On Thursday, October 2, WA Girl’s Varsity Volleyball won an intense game against Acton-Boxborough. Both teams excelled in strategy and teamwork, but WA was able to triumph over AB in the end.

The girls started the set strong by scoring the first few points. AB caught up eventually and tied the score. Both teams were playing a very strong game and the difference in the score was never more than one or two points.

At the end of the set, the girls executed a series of swift plays and were able to gain a more significant lead on AB. The first set ended with a score of 25-18 for WA.

After losing the first set, AB brought it back and scored the first few points of the second. WA quickly rose to the challenge with plays similar to those of the first set, with the girls going head-to-head with minimal differences in the scores.

During the first part of the second set, WA was behind by a point or two. However, during the last few minutes, the girls got their score back up and eventually gained a lead on AB. The final score of the set was 25-23, yet another win for WA.

AB once again started in the lead for the third set. However, with a dramatic increase in the level of teamwork and strategy, this time the girls almost immediately gained a more significant lead on their opponents.

After a series of scores by WA with almost no AB score increases, WA won the final set 25-11, winning the match with a score of 3-0.

Coach Brandon Eang considered the game to be one of their best ones. He was proud of how the team played and worked together. He also recognized senior Angela Alibrandi for some of the more accomplished plays during the game.

“I think this was the first game, ever, in the season, where we played our best,” said Eang.
