However, in the last five minutes of the first period, Bromfield managed a quick turnaround and scored four goals. The first half ended with a score of 8-6, with WA barely in the lead.

In the second half, within ten minutes, WA scored four goals with Bromfield following closely with three goals. As the game progressed, for the last fifteen minutes of the second period, WA scored one more goal and Bromfield managed to net two goals of their own. However, WA still conquered with a final score of 13-11 over Bromfield.

Overall, senior team captain Alayna Serpa was proud of how the team stuck together and pulled out the tough victory.

“We worked together as a unit, and never broke down on defense”, said Serpa.

Coach Julie Olivier acknowledged the close nature of the game, but was overall satisfied with the game’s results.

“I think they performed very well […] with a little bit of intensity from the other team […] but it was a character building experience,” said Oliver.
