In the Phantom of the Opera presented by WATA, freshman Nick Nudler plays the role of Raoul, one of the main characters. It is difficult for freshman to get such big roles, since they are “fresh men” and do not have much experience. But because of his talent, Nudler got chosen for the role of Raoul.
Nudler thought that he wouldn’t get in, for the reasons above. “I didn’t think I would get in, but my dream role was Raoul” says Nudler. When Nudler found out he got the role of Raoul, he “flipped out and sat in the bell lobby, just staring at the paper for five minutes”.
Nudler states that he has been doing theater for many years, and now acting has become second nature to him. Even though Nudler has experience, Raoul must have been a hard role to play. “Absolutely,” says Nudler to this question, “Raoul is a very demanding role”.
Nudler put forth his best effort in the performances. His singing echoed through the PAC, and soothed ones mind. His acting brought tears in the audience’s eyes. The Phantom of the Opera has been a great success, with the help of the crew and the cast, including Nudler.
