The Rec Ball Committee
This is the first installment of 2013-2014 Westford Youth Basketball Association’s recreational basketball league updates. Every week will include a top five power ranking based on team performance, as well as final scores from every game and the top three scorers.
Power Rankings
1.Rockets – Led by Josh Sawyer and Matt McGorty, this team has a solid supporting cast and it showed, as evidenced by everyone on the team scoring.
2. Jazz- Team chemistry was apparent in the first game for the Jazz, leading to a 19-0 run to start the game. With a variety of players contributing to the box score, the Jazz look to be a well rounded force throughout this season.
3. Knicks – With a decisive 27 point victory in the first game, the Knicks are looking up with Dillon McGee and Zach Miller.
4. Warriors – A well balanced team where everyone scored, the Warriors proved to be a contender this year in a contested game against the Nets.
5. Heat – The Nick Mariano and Jake Schladenhauffen combination could prove to be lethal throughout the season. A 5-point win puts them in fifth place in the power rankings.
