WA is set to release students’ draft schedules on Thursday, June 12. Students will be dismissed to their advisories at 1:45 p.m. and will be given their schedules by their advisory teachers. This year, the counseling department announced that the draft schedules will be provided without the names of specific teachers. The decision was allegedly made in order to reduce the number of students requesting to switch out of classes due to the teacher they receive. The Ghostwriter asked students and staff about their thoughts on the omission of teacher names from draft schedules.
“I’m kind of shocked that they’re doing it so close to the day that schedules are getting released. I don’t know why they didn’t make this decision earlier, or if they did, why they didn’t tell us earlier,” sophomore Maya Galli said.
