Westford Academy’s Varsity Girls’ Basketball team won against Acton-Boxboro with a final score of 53-39 on Tuesday, February 4th. The Grey Ghosts fought through an intense game and prevailed with flying colors.
The first quarter kicked off with a three-point shot by sophomore Camille Desrochers, and another three-pointer by freshman Emily Bramanti followed shortly after. WA pulled ahead and at the end of the quarter to make the score 15 to 3.
Acton-Boxboro proved a worthy opponent through their tight defense, but WA had strong control over offense, and won the battle at second quarter at a score of 31 to 16.
After much grappling for the ball, AB obtained several points. However, the Ghosts remained ahead of Acton-Boxboro for the entirety of the quarter and finished 41 to 27.
The Gray Ghosts prevailed through excellent teamwork and well-developed strategies with the final score of 53 to 39.
