This spring the Marine Biology classes once again took to the halls of Westford Academy, putting up masking-tape animals. Last winter is was a variety of whales and other sea creatures, however this time around the class is displaying different species of sharks and manta rays.
The animals are made to scale, and the finished products feature small biographies on the species. These life-size animals make quite the statement about the true size of these creatures.
Following in line with the last phase of sea animals, the class is using this as an educational experience.
“It is a proactive style of learning where students get to learn about sharks in a fun way,” says former Marine Biology student and present teacher’s assistant Anastasia Echavarri.
