Waiver Wire Week 10 Pickups
November 13, 2015
Head back to the Ghostwriter website each week for more fantasy football tips for the rest of the season! Also, the players are in no particular order.
RUNNING BACKS
Karlos Williams BUF
LeSean McCoy is the guy in Buffalo. However, despite Williams getting limited touches this year, he has played exceptionally well. We just needed him to prove himself worthy and with another stellar game in week 9, he has done so. Look for him to at least continue this level of play on limited touches and potentially start to play a larger role in the Bills’ offense with more carries per game. All that being said, I recommend you pick him up if possible, but do not start him against the Jets in week 10. Their run defense is too good. (about 40% owned)
James Starks GB
It’s safe to officially call first-rounder Eddie Lacy a big fat bust. He has just not played well this year. Lucky for the Packers, Starks has. If he is not owned in your league definitely grab him, as he should be the number one in the backfield for Green Bay going forward. (about 40% owned)
Alfred Blue HOU
This guy is on this list this week because the waiver wire is a bit stale this week. He is now a starting running back, so that’s worth something there. He is halfway decent as well and while not being RB or maybe even RB2 quality, he’s a solid talent that should be picked up if need be. (about 50% owned)
*Just a note, with Deon Lewis going down for the season in New England, LeGarrette Blount becomes the main focus. However, some people may get excited over White or Bolden. I just see them as way too high a risk to mention. If you are feeling really risky you can snag them, but I remind you of what happened last year with Jonas Gray, proving coach Bill does not care at all for fantasy football*
WIDE RECEIVERS
Michael Floyd ARI
It appears Floyd may have earned his job back over John Brown in Arizona. The Cardinals had a week 9 bye, leaving Floyd on the waiver wire in many leagues. If things hold true, Floyd could see WR2 discussion the rest of the way. (about 60% owned)
Tavon Austin STL
Austin is an explosive player and the Rams have figured that out by now. He was targeted 7 times in week 9 along with 8 carries. If he is available you need to pick him up in your league. (about 75% owned)
Kamar Aiken BAL
Steve Smith is out for the season and the Ravens had a week 9 bye, so Aiken is on the waiver wire in a lot of leagues. He will not be a Steve Smith but he is a starter so that has value. He could have good upside the rest of the season. (about 45% owned)
Brandon LaFell NE
LaFell looked bad in week 8 after returning from an injury. He dropped more than 50% of his targets, and they were not bad passes. However, he looked much better in week 9 and with the Patriot’s potent offense, LaFell should be added in all leagues. (about 75% owned)
Devin Funchess CAR
The Panthers are for real; we already knew this. Kelvin Benjamin went down early and a lot of people, myself included thought Funchess would be the next big thing. Those who took that chance were thoroughly disappointed with underperforming games and an injury. Thanks to those turn of events, Funchess is on the waiver wire in a lot of leagues. He played well in week 9 and could start to turn the table from week 10 on especially with his QB playing as well as he is. (about 15% owned)
QUARTERBACKS
Tony Romo DAL
Romo got injured and was dropped in many leagues. He will be coming back and could be coming back in week 11. He is worth consideration if you are looking for a QB. (about 60% owned)
Derek Carr OAK
I officially love this dude. He is turning this season into an outstanding sophomore endeavor and I see nothing stopping him. If you had Big Ben or Luck, definitely push hard for this guy. (about 40% owned)
Marcus Mariota TEN
Marietta is the next best thing to Carr. He’s an exciting rookie with great potential. Tennessee could start to really get things going on the offensive side of the ball with a new coaching staff. He can explode any week and played great in week 9. (about 40% owned)
