October 12, 2017
Arvid Tenney has cartwheeled into the WA community this year as a student support leader. After his eight years working at Leominster High School, Tenney is ready to become a part of the Grey Ghost family.
As the student support leader, Tenney meets with parents and coordinates with teachers to ensure students get the services they need. Before coming to WA, he worked at the science department at Leominster High and specifically helped students pass the biology MCAS.
“I think I’ve always liked working with kids; I’ve always been involved in coaching and athletics and it fit with my schedule. When I started teaching, I loved it and was hooked,” said Tenney.
Tenney has coached cheerleading and boys’ volleyball in past years. He coached cheerleading at Ludlow during his first year, and then at Titan All Stars, and also the Blue Devils in Leominster. He also coached varsity boys’ volleyball at Leominster.
Before going into teaching, Tenney owned a gymnastics business called Progressive Gymnastics Training where he taught gymnastics throughout New England. He now runs a gymnastics camp with his wife every summer called, Solid Ground Stunts.
Tenney is excited to be part of the Westford Academy community and looks forward to working here.
“I love [Westford Academy], good people, very welcoming. I can feel the culture here and that it’s a positive place to learn” said Tenney.
