Welcoming Amy Moore to Westford Academy
October 6, 2017
Q: What are your responsibilities at WA?
A: I am the assistant to all the deans and […] I update all of the student information within the websites, [and] the calendar information. […] Basically I’m just their right hand girl and whatever they need I try to help them out so things go smoothly for you all.
Q: Did you have another job before here?
A: I did, I have actually worked in the medical field my whole life.
Q: How did you discover WA?
A: My husband actually graduated from here back in 1987 […] [my] kids are in the school system and I love it.
Q: Did you always know this is what you wanted to do?
A: Nope, I always wanted to work with kids but didn’t really know how to do it. I went to school for criminal justice. I was going to be a police officer.
Q: Do you enjoy what you do/working here?
A: I love it. Absolutely, it’s my favorite job I’ve ever had, so far.
Q: Where did you go to school (college)?
A: UMass Lowell, for criminal justice and psychology.
Q: Do you have goals for this year? What are they?
A: I’ve had many goals this year, and I’ve checked them all off as I’ve gone. I recently ran the marathon in this past April , Boston marathon. My other goal [was] to get into this school system and it happened. So now it’s just picking away at getting to know everybody and my goal is to call everybody by their first name, by the end of the year.
Q: Is there anything else I should know?
A: I grew up in Lowell […] I love sports […] [the things that go on outside].
