Westford Academy’s baseball team saw a coaching change take place last weekend, with head coach and WA math teacher Cory Roman stepping down from his postion. Now, Dean Mike Parent has taken the reins for the remainder of the year.

According to athletic director Dan Twomey, the resignation was due to personal and family matters for Roman. However, the Boston Herald is reporting that parent complaints may have led to this major shift.

According to Twomey, Parent stepped up to fill the vacancy due to lack of interest and readiness in other coaches, as well as his thirty plus years of coaching experience in a variety of WA sports.

“[The assistant coaches] were there for coach Roman, and if coach Roman wasn’t going to be there, they weren’t going to be there,” said Twomey.

The Ghostwriter attempted to reach coach Roman for a comment, but he declined to speak on the issue at this time.
