5 healthy treats to spice up the season

The seasons are changing and frost is forming. The holiday lights and jolly spirits bring joy to this season. What better way to make the holiday season even better than by making delicious holiday treats to get everyone into the mood?
All of the cookies and sweets of the cheerful season may make some people want a few healthy snacks that still keep you in the holiday mood. Here are some of this season’s most delicious healthy treats to keep your holiday healthy.
Cucumber Holiday Wreaths
The first recipe is cucumber holiday wreaths. If you are a fan of homemade snacks during the holiday season, this is a great way to keep your eating both festive and healthy.
Ingredients:
Cucumbers
Ranch Dressing
Red Peppers
Green Peppers
Recipe:
1.) Cut a cucumber into thick slices.
2.) Lightly spread ranch on top of the cucumber slice.
3.) Cut up red peppers and green peppers into small pieces.
4.) Lay out green peppers around the perimeter of the cucumber (The peppers should stick to the ranch).
5.) Add three small pieces of red pepper to one part of the wreath.
Holiday Apple Sandwich Surprise
The second recipe was inspired by the holiday colors: red and green. This recipe combines color and creativity to make a surprise that everyone will enjoy. If peanut butter isn’t an option, alternatives include soy nut butter or any other nut butter.
Ingredients:
Green and red apples
Peanut butter or any nut butter
Granola
Recipe:
1.) Cut red and green apples into thin slices.
2.) Spread peanut butter on the top of one apple slice.
3.) Sprinkle the granola surprise onto the peanut butter.
4.) Mix and match the apple slices to make an apple sandwich.
Holiday Grinch
The next recipe uses sweet and sour to create the perfect combination of taste. If you don’t have any of these ingredients they can be easily replaced by anything of the same color. For example, instead of the mini marshmallows, you could use whipped cream or popcorn.

Mini Marshmallows
Strawberries
Bananas
Green Grapes
Toothpicks
Recipe:
1.) Cut up a banana into thin slices.
2.) Cut the tops off of the strawberries.
3.) Assemble the ingredients in order on a plate. (From top to bottom: mini marshmallow, strawberry, banana, and grape)
4.) Add a toothpick to hold the grinch together.
Christmas Tree Wraps
This recipe uses more earthy ingredients to create the perfect combination of taste and color. It replicates little christmas trees that burst with both flavor and color.
Ingredients:
Vegetable Wraps
Cream Cheese
Green Peppers
Red Peppers
Toothpicks
Recipe:
1.) Lay out a wrap and spread cream cheese evenly across.
2.) Cut red and green peppers into thin slices and add on top of the cream cheese.
3.) Roll the wrap up and slice into one inch pieces.
4.) Shape each piece into a triangle with one shorter side.
5.) Add a toothpick through the middle of the wrap.
Strawberry Santas
The last recipe, uses three delicious ingredients to create a snack that everyone loves. By combining strawberries and whipped cream we create a great taste all together.

Strawberries
Whipped Cream
Blueberries
Recipe:
1.) Cut of top off of the strawberries.
2.) Cut the strawberries so that they have a centimeter wide circle and a tall triangular pyramid in the shape of a santa hat.
3.) Lay the circle down and add whipped cream to the top of the circle.
4.) Put the triangular pyramid on top of the whipped cream and add a dollop of whipped cream on the top.
5.) Put two blueberries in the front of the santa in the whipped cream between the two parts of strawberry.
