With only three weeks under his belt here at Westford Academy, Eric Lipschutz explained his internship, talked about his previous careers, and shared his experiences here at WA.

Hailing from White Plains, New York, Lipschutz attended UMass Amherst and is now an interim guidance counselor at WA before he can graduate from Lesley University.

At Westford Academy, his job mostly consists of student support. Working specifically with Mrs. Lynch, he helps students in day to day activity, helps with the college process, and assists new freshmen. He is also going to be involved heavily with Capstone, an interim program for Seniors. He needs a certain number of hours being an interim, as part of the graduate program at Lesley.

This internship is not Lipschutz’s first rodeo. He has had numerous jobs before this. One notable job is his work at the NHL. He updated the website with new game scores and news stories. This however kept him up at late hours.

“I would work a lot of weird hours. I worked usually from 6 at night to 2 in the morning,” said Lipschutz.

He has also worked at two property management forums, Clairton and DTZ. He also worked at Forum, a corporation based in Boston.

“It’s different than working out here. It’s nice to walk out of work and have stuff around you. To go out to lunch. It’s fun working in a building with a lot of other companies, a lot of action going on,” Lipschutz explained.

However, he decided his calling was not the corporate world, and instead came here. He picked out Westford because it had a good education system and was a larger school in a suburban area. He has positive first impressions of his full school year-long stay. He finds everyone friendly and hopes to enjoy the rest of his year and possibly attain a position in the school itself.
