As some students may have noticed due to it’s humorous ad frequently playing on the morning announcements, Secret Admirer’s Day has returned once again to Westford Academy and will occur on Thursday, February 12. Run by Student Council, Secret Admirer’s Day allows students to purchase flowers, chocolate, and other goodies, to be sent anonymously to a special someone.
“It’s definitely been a long time running. I’d say, five plus years,” said junior Aveen Patel, who helps oversee proceedings.
Patel said there have been around two-hundred orders between the last two years.
Orders are delivered early on the special day and Student Council gives the orders to the teachers of the students to which they are delivered, whom they are then distributed by.
Patel recalls one year in which a student even ordered a massive teddy bear.
One rose can be bought for five dollars, while a dozen can be bought for 50. A carnation costs two dollars for one, 20 for a dozen. A bar of chocolate can be purchased for one dollar, and a teddy bear can be purchased for four dollars.
