Holidays can be a stressful time of year, especially as Christmas closes in. With December 25 right around the corner, families are often busy shopping and deciding what to buy for family and friends. These Reindeer Cocoa Krispies are an easy treat to make either as a gift, or a snack at a Christmas party. This recipe is simple and a mouthful of sweetness with every bite.
-
4 tablespoons of butter
-
1 bag of mini marshmallows
-
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
-
6 cups of cocoa krispies
-
24 pretzel twist ( have extras to allow for breaking)
-
Red and Green M&M’s ( based on personal preference)
-
White Icing (Fluffernutter can be used as a substitute)
First, melt the butter and bag of mini marshmallows over a medium heat keeping the butter on the bottom so the marshmallows don’t burn. Once the entire mixture is melted, stir in the vanilla extract and take the pot off the burner. Before the mixture is cooled add the cocoa krispies to the pot. Continue to stir until the Cocoa Krispies are coated in the marshmallow mixture.
Lay out a piece of wax paper and pour the blend directly onto it. Then, shape as many triangular-shaped reindeer heads (as show in the picture); the final number of heads depends on how large the triangles are. Once this is completed, allow the mixture to cool, and add icing to the face in spots for the M&M eyes and nose, and pretzel antlers.
