Today, spirit week ended with the annual WA spirit rally. Seniors won almost every event, such as the tug of war and the greasy watermelon toss, winning the rally as they do almost every year. See pictures of the rally in the gallery below.

I feel like there were many more pictures taken than this and than on the Facebook group. Are these really all of them?

Seniors win every year. Get over it and wait your turn.

Both the sophomores (sumo) and the freshmen (3-legged, but not really) won a contest, so the seniors didn’t sweep. Good job seniors, even though the watermelon toss was completely and visibly rigged in their favor. For their introduction, I personally disliked the LeBron chalk thing, and I thought came off as trying to imitate LeBron when clearly you’re just spoiled jocks and he’s just a kid from Akron, Ohio. Still, the truck and flag were great and they looked tough in black and in black and grey (not gray, mind you) face paint. The freshmen… uh… I guess there was one guy, but they looked pretty bad and disorganized both on the sidelines and on the field. They never even reached 2nd place (the 3-legged race was a sham, even though the freshmen looked good at the beginning)! The juniors were alright but overall disappointing, while the sophomores looked great in the sumo upset of the seniors, but overall it was senior domination out there. Also, weren’t there more events left? (powderpuff, etc.) I think next year, either the long block should be switched with the third block, or the first three blocks should be shortened by 10-20 minutes. Overall, a good event, but there should be less or no rigging next year and more even events. But then again, knowing the history of the rally, it’s unlikely anything will change, and if it does, it will be in favor of the seniors (juniors). Good job everyone, and hopefully the spirit rally is even better next year.
