Westford Academy Girls Varsity Field Hockey took on the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors in their last home game Friday afternoon. Although the game was close for the majority of the game, the Ghosts were able to take the win with a score of 2-1.

Lincoln-Sudbury held their 1-0 lead for most of the first half, but junior, Annie Kilday, broke through their defense and scored for the Ghosts. At half time, the game was tied 1-1 and remained so well into the second half of the game.

Senior, Allia Connolly, had a nice drive into the goal to give WA the lead with two minutes left in the second half. The girls were able to hold their defense strong and finished the game with a 2-1 win.

At the beginning of the game, the team celebrated all the senior players in their last home game of the season. This year’s seniors included; Bretta Beer, Grace Fahey, Erin Cullen, Allia Connolly, Jenna Klinka, Tianna Habosian, Hailey McDonald, and captains Allison Avery, Erica Mattila, and Anna Collins.
