Due to the expected hundred percent chance of snowfall tonight, as well as for additional snowfall expected for Tuesday, March 19, the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System testing (MCAS) has been cancelled for Tuesday.
The long composition part of the MCAS was supposed to be Tuesday, with the shorter reading comprehension parts scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Because of this, the long composition testing has been postponed until Monday, March 25th. But the testing for MCAS will continue to take place on Thursday, March 21st and Friday, March 22nd.
With the amount of precipitation that is expected, there is a very likely chance that schools across Massachusetts will be cancelled. Teachers and school administrators will have to re-plan and adjust their schedules in accordance with the storm, while students will be able to relax and sleep in.
According to weather.com, tonight there will be 3-5 inches of snow expected tomorrow morning, while there will be an additional 3-5 inches falling during the day tomorrow. In addition to this, we are expecting ice on top of the snow which will result in icy roads for tomorrow morning.
“March 25th will be an “A-Day”- no other changes will be made to the rotation of the schedule,” said Principal Jim Antonelli in an email to the WA staff on Monday.
