As soon as you walk into Euphoria Coffee, you can immediately feel the comfortable and warm environment created by the food, decor, and people. Its small brick exterior is squeezed between other shops, creating an appealing aesthetic that continues throughout the interior of the cafe. Euphoria Coffee is a hidden gem located on 14-16 Fletcher St A in Chelmsford, open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday.
When a friend and I visited Euphoria on a Saturday in December at around 12:00 pm, the cafe was filled with customers. Although it was busy, we were still able to find two seats near the window. The cafe was charming, with quiet music playing in the background, art hanging on the walls, and rustic wooden booths and seating. The decor also brought in some holiday spirit through a decorated Christmas tree near the door. The cafe would be a great hangout spot for friends to visit, as they had lots of seating and outlets lining the walls near the window. Although they didn’t have wifi, the cellular data was still good.
While I was ordering my food, the waitress was patient and kind while explaining the sizes, toppings, and flavors available for their drinks. Euphoria Cafe is mostly noted for their coffee, however it has a variety of other food and drink options for non-coffee drinkers. The actual menu in the restaurant was posted on the wall, but it was difficult to read due to the font size.
My drinks and food came out very quickly, and were served to me by one of the staff members. The worker serving me quickly found my table and asked if everything looked good before leaving. My hot chocolate and Dutch cold brew came out in three minutes while my chocolate chip cookie came out in five minutes.
I ordered their small hot chocolate ($3.75) which came in multiple different sizes, and had the option for whipped cream.
The hot chocolate exceeded expectations immediately due to its presentation. The drink came in a marbled brown and white mug that was quite large despite being a size small. The chocolate flavor was nice and not too overpowering. Additionally, the drink was not hot enough to burn you when you first drank it. Even though the hot chocolate was good, I feel that you could find a similar taste in boxed chocolate mixes.
The next thing I tried was the special, the Dutch Ethiopian cold brew ($5.95), which is a specialty iced coffee mixed with espresso beans from all across Italy.
I don’t love coffee, so the drink was too strong and bitter for my taste. However, there was a drink bar in the corner with sweetener, sugar, chocolate powder, and grounded cinnamon available for beverages. Any big fans of a strong coffee flavor would love the cold brew, as the coffee flavor came through despite the extra add-ins I placed in.
The last thing I ordered was the chocolate chip cookie ($2.75). They had multiple options for cookies, including chocolate chip, oatmeal, and sugar cookies.
I was hoping for a small snack, however, when I got my order, the cookie was larger than expected. The cookie was served cold and tough on the outside, so it was not the best to have in winter. Even though it had a hard exterior, the inside of the cookie was soft, so it was still a good enough snack. Overall, I liked it but it was slightly below my expectations. The price of all my food and beverages came out to $13.23. I thought the cost was a little pricey for the amount of items I bought and the quality of said items.
After eating, I looked at the merchandise that was hanging by the back corner of the cafe. They had a variation of goods, including tote bags for ($9.99), hoodies ($48.99), and crewnecks for ($39.99). Overall, the merchandise was on the expensive side, so I did not end up purchasing anything.
My visit to Euphoria Coffee was an overall very enjoyable experience. Their mix of baked goods, sandwiches, and drinks gave a wide variety of options for people to snack on when they visit. I would definitely recommend visiting Euphoria Coffee if you are in the area, especially if you’re a coffee lover.
