Q: What led you to this passion?
A: My grandmother inspired me because she was a teacher and I grew up in that environment. As a little kid I would also sit with some of my stuffed animals and pretend to teach them, as if I were in an actual class setting.
Q: What was your high school experience like?
A: My high school experience was similar to WA, being that high school was not that long ago for me.
Q: What is something you struggled with in highschool?
A: I spent most of highschool finding different friend groups and where I fit in the most. I feel like the people you surround yourself with tend to make the most impact on you. There is also a lot of competition sometimes when it came to AP classes or who had the highest GPA. High school was also more of a personal journey for me and it was when I went through friend groups until I found the right one.
Q: What struggles did you go through in high school?
A: I think that one thing I struggled with for sure was motivation and willingness to do things. After a while you just feel drained and have a tough time doing things wholeheartedly. I would also struggle with procrastination because I was one of the many kids who waited until the last minute to do things.
Q: What was your favorite subject in high school?
A: My favorite subject would definitely have to be English because I love reading and writing.
Q: What are your favorite books to read?
A: I love romance and fiction novels and I’ve been interested in Emily Henry’s books.
Q: What challenges have you faced at WA?
A: I struggled with communication especially because I didn’t really know that many people when I first started. I also struggled with finding my way around the school and getting used to the schedule.
Q: What was your last job?
A: I was a substitute coordinator which means that I would make lesson plans for the substitutes.
Q: How does this job compare to your last?
A: I was a coordinator which meant that I planned things out for other people and now I am here teaching students, which I love. At my last job I wasn’t doing much teaching and over here I have more opportunities to teach.
Q: Has any event in your life affected you in any way?
A: When I lived in Dracut two people in my apartment building got into a fight, and one of them had a gun. The person with the gun didn’t know where the other person lived and started shooting through every apartment door. Luckily, I was lying in my bed and it just missed me. If I was 2 centimeters higher than I was, then I definitely wouldn’t have been here today.
Q: How well do you connect to the students you work with?
A: I connect to the students really well and one of the lessons I like to teach them is that everyone makes mistakes. I feel like if they see an adult occasionally make a mistake then they won’t be afraid to make their own as well.
