Westford Academy warmly welcomes yet another new addition to the faculty, Mrs. Lynn Jones. She is a new member of the student support services.
Q: How long have you been teaching?
A: I’ve been teaching for four years in Westford. I’ve taught for two years at Miller, one year at Day, and this is my first year in WA.
Q: What has your experience been like at WA so far?
A: I like it. It’s very different from the lower elementary. The teachers are nice and the students are respectful.
Q: What do you teach at Westford Academy?
A: I am a teacher assistant and help students one-on-one in extra help.
Q: What exactly does the student support services do?
A: It really depends on the student that we are assigned. It can range from academics to behavior. We give help and support to the students who need it.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about the school so far?
A: I like the mix of different classes and students. Again, it’s very different from the elementary school and I think the school provides great opportunities for the students.
Q: Is there a special reason you chose to become a part of the student support services?
A: It works with my schedule as a mom of three kids. Also, I like helping people because it’s gratifying at the end of the day.
Q: What age group do you enjoy teaching the most?
A: I like teaching second graders. I also enjoy teaching high school kids because they’re respectful, they listen, and they’re new to me.
Q: Where did you go to college? What did you major in?
A: I went to Bentley University and majored in marketing. I also attended the University of Oklahoma and got a degree in Germany. I also have a masters in human relations.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time outside of school?
A: I like watching my kids’ sports, like tennis. I also enjoy going to the Cape and the beach.
Q: Is there something about you that your students wouldn’t know?
A: I lived in Germany for five years and traveled all over Europe.
