Anthony Cammalleri, Staff Writer

On Thursday, January 14th, the lineup for three-day outdoor music festival Boston Calling was announced. The Bostonian counter-culture paradise will start May 27th, continuing until May 29th and will take place on the City Park Plaza. The lineup includes a variety of artists ranging from Australian pop hit, Sia, and contemporary alternative pop artist, Elle King, to alternative folk group City and Colour.

Other musicians attending include the British indie rock band, as well as acoustic alternative singer-songwriters such as Sufjan Stevens and Courtney Barnett. This year, Boston Calling is dedicated to incorporating a variety of music styles and ethnicities into the festival,

“We have tried to make each successive edition of Boston Calling more exciting and diverse, and this May’s festival is no different,” says festival curator Aaron Dessner, “To have artists as adventurous and distinct as Sufjan, Sia, Charles Bradley, Haim, Robyn, Lizzo and Battles, to name just a few, is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to take it all in.”

Those interested in attending can choose between purchasing general admission passes, on sale January 14th for $170, which allow easy access to all performance areas within the three days. VIP passes are also available for $349, this includes a more luxurious experience consisting of Exclusive entrance VIP Lounge access, hors d’oeuvres, a private bar, private restrooms, and an elevated viewing platform on the blue stage.

“We believe the upcoming festival will be the most interesting edition yet. The lineup that Aaron and his team created is amazing. We’ve spent so much time this year on making the attendee experience the best it can be, from the new food and beverage experience to the new performance stage; we have even more programming space this year. We also still have a few more surprises to share,” says festival co-founder Brian Appel.
